We love and appreciate our fans every month of the year and in February, aka Fanuary, we showed our love to the Crusader fans.
Over the four games we had in February, we wanted to show our appreciation to the great fans we have here in Sherwood Park with giveaways and inviting a selected few to do a ceremonial puck drop at centre ice. One of the lucky fans that were able to participate in the puck drop was Roman Lozowy. Roman was a huge fan of Crusaders forward Tanner Younghans who skated to centre ice and joined Roman for the face off. Younghans then gave his number one fan a signed Tanner Younghans jersey as a thank you to all the support he had given him and his teammates: it was an amazing moment.
Throughout the month of February, the Crusaders finished with a 3-1-0 record, taking down the Dragons, Pontiacs, and Kodiaks. The team combined for a total of 16 goals. The Kodiaks game was a special one. That game, Cru fans were gifted by watching an excellent display of goaltending from netminder Jake Morrissey. Believe it or not, Morrissey topped of his sublime performance with a goal for himself.

Overall, Fanuary was a huge success for everybody involved. Cru fans left the arena happy every night and Cru staff loved seeing smiles on the faces of fans. We have the best fans in the AJHL and we want to thank every single one of them for what they do for this organization. Our fans always have the backing the boys on the ice and it’s amazing to see.
Once again, thank you Crusader fans for being the best out there. We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon.
