SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have announced a pair of transactions inside the crease, signing goaltender Daniel Héroux (’05) and trading Elliot Pratt (’05) to the Camrose Kodiaks for a PDF.
“We are excited to add Daniel,” stated Crusaders general manager Adam Sergerie. “He was a highly touted goalie coming out of US High School Prep last season and is already committed to the University of Vermont. Daniel competes hard, is athletic, uses his size very well and his understanding of the game is what attracted us the most.”
Héroux, originally from Montréal, Quebec, has played this season with the Lone Star Brahmas, earning a 2.00 GAA in his three games with the organization. Previously, the 6’2 goaltender plied his trade with Kimball Union Academy, where he earned a .933 save percentage across 58 games with the club. Last season also saw Héroux earn recognition as the 21st-ranked goaltender by NHL Central Scouting. Héroux is currently committed to the University of Vermont (NCAA, Div 1.) for the 2024/2025 season.
Pratt, a native of Toronto, Ontario, signed with the Crusaders this summer after spending the past two years as part of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program. Last season, the Toronto, Ontario native played in 30 games, compiling a record of 18-6-0 between the 18U AAA and the NEPACK 18U teams. In four games with the Crusaders this season, Pratt compiled a 2-1-0 record and a 3.64 GAA.
The Crusaders would like to thank Pratt for his contributions through his time in Sherwood Park, and to welcome Daniel and the Héroux family to the organization.
