Tyler Miller Joins Crusaders

Sherwood Park, AB:  The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Tyler Miller (2004) from the Northern Alberta U18 prep program.
Ҭ
“We are very excited to be welcoming Tyler (Miller) and his family to our team,” said General Manager Kyle Chase. “Tyler (Miller) has been a defenseman that has been high on our list for the last couple of years now. We had him at our main camp to start the year and would have kept him if we could. We knew the best option for him was to go back to NAX and develop for one more season to get the necessary touches in.”
Ҭ
Miller is a 5’11″, 150 lb defenceman from Medicine Hat, Alberta. He spent the past three seasons in the Northern Alberta Prep program in the CSSHL
Ҭ
In the brief 2021 season, Miller scored one goal and five points for the U18 prep team. He also affiliated for them two in the 2020 season and picked up a single assist. His first season with Northern Alberta was with the Elite 15s. In 36 games, Miller found the back of the net four times and had 18 assists to his name, making him the highest scoring defenceman on the team.
Ҭ
“Tyler (Miller) is today’s defenseman,” said Head Coach Adam Manah. “He may not be the biggest guy, but he skates very well, plays with pace is smart and dynamic with the puck and likes to join the rush offensively. He is tough to play against when he does those things. That’s why we have been so high on him from the start and know he will be a terrific young defenseman for us in the future. We are fortunate he will join us for the rest of 2020-21 and onward.”
Ҭ
During his time with the NAX program, Miller was teammates with current Crusaders defenseman Cale Ashcroft.
Ҭ
The Crusaders would like to welcome Tyler and the Miller family to the organization.
