The Sherwood Park Crusaders have named right winger Will Zapernick as the winner of the 2019/2020 Unsung Hero Award.
Zapernick – who is in his third season with the Cru – played on the top line with fellow forwards Arjun Atwal and Carter Savoie, in which he formed a dangerous attacking front. Zapernick finished the season with 88 points (34G, 54A) and was third in team scoring. He was also sixth in scoring in the AJHL. Not only was Zapernick a key contributor on the ice, but one of the hearts and souls of the organization both in the dressing room and in the community.
Edmonton-born Zapernick?s talents on the ice have not gone unnoticed by college scouts. He has already committed to play NCAA hockey at the University of Alabama-Huntsville ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The team and organization wish to thank Will for his contribution this season and for his success on the ice.
